# Getting a job

We went to talk to K'Kra or K-Kor's "Independent Detective Agency" and talked to him, signed the non-disclosure agreement, haggled for pay and accepted the job!

60 credits per day and person, 60% of the reward at the end, whatever it might be! The job is most interesting: to find a human woman called *Luce*, nearly 28 years old, who disappeared when she was 26 years old. Her father is an upper class descendant of the initial exploration team for this world, called *Vincenso*. When the official police reports came back without answers, he asked K'Kra to take a second look. But K'Kra hasn't had much luck in finding people to do the job, travel off-system and all that. But now we're going to embed ourselves into the investigative life and I'll write a great ethnography and submit it to the Great Planetary Ethnographic Studies Competition next year.

In any case, six weeks ago a photo showed up with a woman at a beach in a resort. The photo appears to be eight months old. There's a 70% match between the picture and the biometric records K'Kra had organized. We made a copy. Dental records, genetic testing samples, that kind of stuff.

Strange that the official investigation didn't turn up anything. The picture shows a few other humans but K'Kra says no matches were communicated. Could be data protection issues since he's not related or it could be that there is some sort of cover-up. Or perhaps father and daughter had a falling out? Did she run away? We'll have to be careful, here.

On the way back, Blugna mentioned that there was a camera facing the door in that room and no protection against laser-based eavesdropping. If we do bring back news of Luce's whereabouts, we'll have to make sure that K'Kra doesn't make a run for it. He certainly seems to be believe that the reward will be "millions and millions" of credits.

When presenting this lab journal to Wuglug, they remarked that the photo was eight months ago and that six weeks ago the Vrusk got the job from Vincenso. So now we have two competing hypothesises to verify. I am wobbling with excitement.
