We -- the three Dralasites on a mission -- met friendly Sgt. [[Coras]] who was willing to join us in our little investigation into the disappearance of Lucia.

> Coras> After [PSO-0966 reported some discrepancies with the original investigation](2026-06-11), I was assigned to follow up on a cold missing-person case, and also keep an eye on the private investigators pursuing it. I figure it's better to cooperate with them than try to run the show (that has never been my forte). In fact, their non-officer status may allow some approaches that would be out of bounds for my public security officer code of conduct. Should I be concerned about the “unconventional” ideas they throw out there? Nah, I'm sure it is just a brainstorming technique to include approaches that must obviously be discarded. And we all have the same goal: to find the missing lady and make sure that she is safe and well.

He brought the **electronic journal** that supposedly belonged to Lucia to his police precinct's IT department and asked them to see whether there was anything in it. Also he made sure that Officer **Arland** wouldn't get his hands onto the journal. Druke in particular was suspicious. Arland had been involved in the earlier investigation and was either in on something or he had been fooled. Neither of these two qualities endear him to the Druke.

> Coras> Yeah, the chief officer has cut and quarantined Arland from the case. He's on paperwork duty (TPS reports ftw) for now. He must be furious.

Sgt. Coras looks through all the pieces of information we collected and points at the [travel records](travel_records). "Why don't we go to the [Amity Freight Cooperative](hamity_freight_cooperative) and ask them what they had picked up?" The vat brothers all have different opinions on that but eventually Coras' proposal carries the day. "Let's just go and ask. This is a civilized society. If we run into privacy protections but have reasonable doubts, I can still show my badge and ask for more support." The vat brothers demure and so we went there.

[Snorgka](blugna) takes the lead and speaks the the Yazirian(f) Wayne, asks for her help, and gets it. Two 400 kg containers ("maybe material for an aquarium, with suitable care and delicate handling required") and lots of boxes had been picked up. And no, no detailed manifesto was forthcoming until Sgt. Coras flashed his badge. We learned that the containers were pretty big (3m×3m×2m), which is big enough to transport livestock -- or sophonts!

We had already looked up the whereabouts of her retainers:

- her chef, **Alaine [Elena?] Vance** the human(f), went to the resort and her financial records stop two weeks later;
- her butler, **Arrale** the human(f), also went to the resort but financial records stop two weeks later;
- her assistant, **Herrak** the Yazirian(m), whereabouts unknown, financial records stop three days before the trip to the resort.

So in fact, Lucia and Herrak did not travel to the resort -- or they travelled inside the containers!

Clearly, we need to follow up on that. **Donton** works at the resort, in maintenance and plant services, and he signed off on the shipment. Surely he knows what happened to the big environmental cubes.

Furthermore, there's a small space port just 15 min from the resort. Small ships take things into orbit or to the Lagrange points, every now and then. Perhaps another company took the environmental cubes with Lucia and Herrak and sent them into space. Surely it's not OK to send sophonts as freight, but a desperate woman in desperate times might resort to that. We need to find out whether this is a disappearance, a kidnapping, or an escape. We need to find Lucia. Whether we'll turn her in if we do, we don't know.

> Coras> Of the evidence collected at the apartment, it seems only the [[electronic_journal]] (contents TBD), thanks to being hidden, is trustworthy. As well as the traffic records of course. Assuming that Lucque went through a lot of trouble to sneak off to the Archipelago without trace, who would have gone back to the apartment to plant leads to Archipelago and Donton after the fact? Could it be Donton himself, bothered by something he saw/knows and hoping law enforcement may get in touch??

We decide to take the next transport to the Archipelago and investigate where Lucque's crates and staff ended up. Coras asks IT to send him a message as soon as they unlock the journal.

Everybody gets 10 XP and 180 Cr (except Coras who is on a monthly salary).
